Situated in a secluded, wood valley, high in the Shap Fells and surrounded by mountain streams, Shap Wells Hotel is the ideal base from which to explore the Lake and the Dales. All bedrooms are equipped with TV, alarm clock and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. Hotel has a lift.
Travel to Penrith with suitable refreshment stops en-route. We arrive at our destination in time to settle into our new surroundings before dinner in the evening.
After breakfast we travel to Bowness where you have free time to explore this beautiful picturesque town, there are cafes, restaurants, shops and places to visit, such as the World of Beatrix Potter attraction. You then board the boat to enjoy a cruise along Lake Wildemere, we enjoy a return journey from Bowness to lakeside, enjoying a spectacular voyage through some of England’s most stunning scenery. Upon your return to Bowness you will re-join the coach to return to the hotel in time for your evening meal.
We enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading to Kendal, the beautiful busy town is one of the largest in the County of Westmorland. The historic, picturesque cobbled streets and yards provide heaps of character and excitement to fill your morning. After lunch you re-join the coach and head to Grasmere, where you will have the opportunity to explore the scenery and history of this beautiful village, as well as visiting the local cafes and eateries. As we rejoin the coach, we take the scenic route back to the hotel to enjoy some downtime before our evening meal.
Today we leave the hotel and take a scenic journey to Keswick, spend the day enjoying this beautiful market town. Mid afternoon we board the coach and enjoy the ride through the picturesque, Kirkstone Pass.
Unfortunately we must bid our hosts farewell as we depart from the hotel at 10:00am, stopping for suitable comfort breaks and lunch on the way home.
