The Auckland Hotel, Morecombe

Set in Morecambe, The Auckland Hotel offers beachfront accommodation 50 yards from Morecambe North Beach and offers various facilities, such as a restaurant, a bar and a shared lounge. Among the facilities at this property are a 24-hour front desk along with free Wi-Fi throughout the property. The hotel has family rooms. At the hotel, all rooms have a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, bed linen and towels. The Auckland Hotel provides some units with sea views, and every room includes a kettle.

Monday

We depart Boston early morning; your taxi will bring you the short journey to meet the coach before you are on your way. We make a lunch stop in Skipton, known as the 'Gateway to the Dales'. The town has an excellent selection of shops and attractions including a castle which is over 900 years old. Departing midafternoon, we complete our journey across to our base for the week in the Lancashire coastal town of Morecombe.

Tuesday

Our excursion today takes us to Lancaster, with time to explore at leisure as we arrive, we regroup early afternoon to enjoy a cream tea cruise on the Lune Aqueduct. This trip takes you Northbound over the spectacular Lune Aqueduct before returning to Aldcliffe Road dock around an hour and a half later. The 200yr old Lune Aqueduct is regarded as one of the "wonders of the waterways". The boat travels over the listed structure, almost 100ft above the River Lune, offering stunning views of the city skyline and surrounding countryside. The 18th century Aqueduct, designed by John Rennie, received a lottery grant and in 2012 was upgraded to a tourist attraction of the highest standard.

Wednesday

A leisurely start this morning prior to our day exploring Morecambe. Enjoy one of the finest views from its promenade, the magnificent sweep of coastline and bay, looking across to the Lakeland mountains. Maybe visit one of Morecambe's most famous landmarks is a statue commemorating one of its most famous sons, Eric Morecambe.

Thursday

We head to Bowness this morning where we meet our drivers for the day as we board the mountain goat minibuses we sit back and enjoy a tour covering six lakes, including Windermere, Brotherswater, Ullswater, Thirlmere, Grasmere, and Rydal Water, offering breathtaking views throughout.

Friday

As we depart this morning we begin our return journey back to Lincolnshire. We make a stop in Bury during our return journey, with time to wander and bargain hunt at the market. Departing early afternoon, we complete our journey and return to Boston and your awaiting taxis to complete your onward journeys.
