The White Swan Alnwick

Set in the heart of the historic market town of Alnwick and only a stone’s throw from Alnwick Castle and Gardens, this charming 300-year-old coaching inn blends its unique heritage with superb accommodation.

For generations, one of the North of England’s primary hotels, the White Swan is probably best known for its Olympic Dining Suite which features the magnificent panelling, mirrors and stained glass windows from the Titanic’s sister ship.

All bedrooms are ensuite and have television, telephone, hairdryer, and tea & coffee making facilities. No Lift.

Please be advised that the hotel is not accessible for individuals using wheelchairs, as the ground floor still contains steps leading into the dining area and other locations.

Friday

We leave the local area in mid-morning and begin our journey north. En route, we pause for lunch in the charming market town of Helmsley, renowned for its handsome stone buildings, historic market square, and the impressive ruins of its medieval castle. Afterwards, we continue onward to our destination, The White Swan, Alnwick.

Saturday

Enjoy free time to explore the delightful market town of Alnwick at your leisure, discovering its historic streets, independent shops, and welcoming atmosphere.

Sunday

Today, our guide meets us at the hotel as we set off on a scenic tour of the Northumberland coast. Sit back and relax while taking in the spectacular coastal scenery, charming villages, and sweeping sea views. Suitable stops will be made along the way for coffee and lunch.

Monday

We visit the historic city of Durham, where you will have free time to explore its charming streets and landmarks at your leisure, before departing mid-afternoon and returning to Lincolnshire.
