Shropshire and the Severn Valley

Monday

This morning you will be greeted by your driver as you take advantage of our door-to-door service. You meet the coach at Boston you are welcomed on board and then head on your way. Making a lunch time stop in the wonderful Leicester, you are given a range of options to grab a quick bite to eat and see some sights. Departing Leicester mid-afternoon, you then complete your journey and arrive at your hotel for the week, Stourport Manor Hotel.

Tuesday

Today we travel on the Severn Valley Railway, a freedom of the line ticket allows us to join the train at Kidderminster and travel all the way to Bridgnorth to explore the historic market town; there's a funicular railway, castle ruins, beautiful gardens and lots of independent shops. Mid-afternoon, there'll be a train to Bewdley to visit historic riverside town; there's plenty of independent shops, eateries, bakeries, riverside walks and a free museum. The town is approximately half a mile from the station. Afterwards, it's back to the station for the last train of the day for the leisurely journey back to Kidderminster.

Wednesday

Today we visit two fabulous destinations, starting in Worcester, a Cathedral & University City with a fascinating history of industry, with a wealth of interesting high street names & independent boutiques. Around lunch time we travel to Tewkesbury, a town situated on a waterside setting. Take a boat trip along the River Avon. Visit the Abbey, which has stood for over 900 years, renowned for its Norman tower, ornate 12th Century ceiling and stunning stained-glass windows. Independent shops, museums, Heritage Centre, walking trails and tearooms aplenty.

Thursday

Free time in the morning to explore historical Shrewsbury with its higgledy-piggledy streets, Norman Abbey and black & white Tudor shops and houses. In the afternoon, we join 'Sabrina', a modern passenger boat for a 45-minute sailing including live commentary and tea and biscuits.

Friday

As we bid farewell to our hosts we enjoy a final excursion to Blitz Hill Victorian Town. Step back to a time & place where traditional life and industry sat side by side at the dawn of the modern age. Visit Victorian shops and cottages, taste authentic food & sweets and join craftspeople demonstrating their trades in the recreated working town. We depart mid-afternoon and travel back to Boston to meet your taxis to complete your return journey.
