The Old Swan, Harrogate

The Old Swan Hotel stands in the centre of the lovely town of Harrogate, famed as being Agatha Christie’s hiding place during her disappearance in 1926. Bedrooms are stylishly furnished, and the public areas include the library restaurant, the Wedgewood Room, and the lounge bar. All rooms are ensuite and have TV, Hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities.

The hotel has a lift.

Monday

We will collect you from your door by taxi and take you to meet your waiting air-conditioned executive coach. We will then travel north with a short coffee stop en route; we will drop our luggage at the hotel and then head out into the stunning town of Harrogate to explore. Returning to the hotel at your leisure to check in to your room before the evening meal.

Tuesday

Today we head to the beautiful historic city of York. Upon our arrival in the city, we change vehicles and board the sightseeing bus, an informative tour allows you to see all the wonders of the city. The bus also provides you with a hop on hop off option for getting around the city for the day. We have the day in the city to explore at our leisure, maybe visit the world-famous York Minster, take a walk on the famous city walls and explore the "Shambles" with its ancient leaning buildings, one of Europe's best preserved medieval streets. See the excellent Castle Museum with its Victorian street and the superb Railway Museum housing a collection of over 100 locomotives.

Wednesday

We escape to the charming market town of Skipton, known as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. Skipton is a delightful blend of historic landmarks, vibrant markets, and breathtaking landscapes. Whether you're looking to explore its rich history, shop in the bustling town centre, or enjoy a peaceful canal-side stroll, Skipton has something for everyone. We enjoy a cruise along the Leeds Liverpool Canal as part of our exciting day out.

Thursday

This morning we must bid farewell to our hosts at The Old Swan; we enjoy a morning at leisure in the delightful spa town of Harrogate. Late morning we make the short journey to Knaresborough, full of surprises, a warren of medieval streets and stone staircases that weave their way up and down. The town centre is perched on the cliffs above the River Nidd and the imposing railway viaduct across the Nidd Gorge offers an amazing view to visitors as they arrive by train. Mid-afternoon we depart and complete our return journey back to Lincolnshire.
